Android One is an ambitious initiative from Google to bring Android smartphones to the reach of every person. If you haven’t heard of Android One devices before, they are the poor man’s Nexus devices which costs under $100 but comes with promised updates along with the Nexus line-up. However, Android 5.0 Lollipop had not panned out as expected which delayed the Lollipop updates for Android One devices.
Android One users have been stuck on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat for months now after the Lollipop release in November. The main reason behind the delayed updates was obviously the multiple bugs surfaced in the Android 5.0 which were eventually sorted out in the subsequent iterations. Luckily, Android One users will directly see the latest Android 5.1 with the build number LMY47O which is reportedly stable and bug free.
The OTA links were captured by some of the XDA enthusiasts and are ready to rock on your device. The OTA file can be flashed using stock or any custom recovery just like any other zip file. The update can be installed on both rooted/non-rooted, bootloader locked/unlocked devices. So, without further ado, let’s grab the OTA links and flash them on your Android One.

Install Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA on Android One devices
- Download the OTA file as per your device and place it in the root of your SD card.
- Now turn off the device and boot into recovery mode.
- Select the zip file from the SD card and flash it. Factory reset is optional as this is an OTA file which means you can keep your data. But if the device is causing troubles after boot, try to perform a factory reset.
- Reboot the device once the OTA file is flashed.
That’s it, the initial boot will take a lot of time, so be patient and excited while the candy is served.
